Abadía Retuerta is a witness to history and a place where the land and the vine meet.

 

Abadía is the art of feeling life by promoting the artistic values that nature provides. Respecting and preserving the legacy received, the environment, the monastery and its wines is the priority, as well as giving back to the land, improving and increasing what it so generously gives us.

 

Calicata is their new project. A magical space where you can extend your visit to the winery – or simply come to enjoy a unique place away from the city and the noise – and better understand what this land, Castilla y León, and these wines mean. A terrace overlooking the pine forest and the Abadía Retuerta vineyards, decorated by Sierra de la Higuera with noble and authentic materials such as clay, wood and cork, and where the colours inspired by the earth: terracottas, greens and browns give coherence to the whole project.

 

Calicata’s cuisine is complementary to the hotel's two main restaurants: Refectorio and Vinoteca. A proposal of updated traditional cuisine that revolves around the produce and producers of the area, including the Abadía Retuerta vegetable garden.

 

Everything in Calicata has a reason, the dishes, the furniture, the materials, the tableware and, of course, the wines, presented as a game that allows them to be explored from different angles.

 

Ansón+Bonet helped them to define the ideal concept for this space, develop the gastronomic offer together with Marc Segarra, the hotel’s executive chef, and work with the designers to achieve a dream space.
